Spring to spring one day later, winter to last one day longer
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The South African Weather Services (SAWS) says the sun is expected to start shinning again on Wednesday, with the last of the cooler weather to move over on 1 September, which is traditionally known as Spring Day.
Weather forecaster, Celeste Fourie, says the current cold front in the Western Cape will see the mercury dropping on Tuesday.
However, Fourie says from Wednesday we can expect a return to warmer weather.
That will also bring with it the first showers for the new season.
“We are also expecting first showers for the southern western parts and they might reach the Johannesburg area. From Wednesday onwards we are expecting an increase in temperatures daily. So, from Wednesday I would say spring is almost here with us, bringing an increase in temperatures as well as our afternoon thunderstorms,” says Fourie.
