As the Springbok's World Cup victory parade wraps up in Cape Town on Monday, SA Rugby (SARU) apologised to fans in Port Elizabeth (PE) who missed out on the change to see their heroes.

"Massive crowds, congestion, and a waiting flight to Cape Town meant an unavoidable last-minute route change," Tweeted SARU.

We are as disappointed as you, and we do apologise sincerely."

Over the weekend, the Springboks took the Web Ellis  Cup to both East London and Port Elizabeth.

Captain Siya Kolisi returned to his roots Sunday, holding the trophy as an open-top bus crawled through the streets of a Port Elizabeth township.
