Spur confrontation "sends poor message to children": Gender Equality Commission
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The Commission for Gender Equality has weighed in after video footage of two parents arguing at an eatery went viral online.
A heated confrontation between a woman and a man at a Spur restaurant at the Glen Shopping Centre, in Gauteng was captured on camera yesterday.
It is believed the man approached the woman over claims that one child bullied the other at the restaurant's play area.
The group's Mbuyiselo Botha says the altercation sends a poor message to the children who witnessed it firsthand.

"It sends a very sad message to children. As they grow up, they will internalise this knowing that women are inferior and available to men. They can be shouted at, threatened and bullied because we can as men," he said.
Meanwhile, Spur Steak Ranches has said in a statement that it condemns the argument between the two customers - adding that the man has been banned from their restaurants nationwide.
