Stage 2 load-shedding to continue
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Eskom again implemented stage 2 load-shedding on Sunday morning - saying it's expected to continue until 10 pm.
"Stage Two calls for 2000 MW to be rotationally loadshed nationally at a given period. Load-shedding is conducted rotationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system from a total collapse or blackout," the power utility says in a statement.
The power utility put into effect stage 2 load-shedding on Saturday - due to some of their units not being returned to service. Eskom has also experienced outages at some of their power generating plants.
It says the national power grid continues to take strain.
Residents are being asked to use electricity sparingly during this time.
