Stage 2 loadshedding here for another day
Updated | By Masechaba Sefularo
Eskom says it will continue to implement stage 2 load shedding on Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to midnight.
It will then reduce the planned power cuts to stage 1 on Friday.
The troubled power utility says it will try to limit the blackouts to night-time.
Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha said it currently has 5 021MW on planned maintenance, while another 14 760MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.
“Since Tuesday a generation unit each at Camden, Kriel, Kusile, Matla, and Medupi power stations were returned to service. Two generating units at Majuba and one at Tutuka power stations were taken offline for repairs.”
Mantshantsha said Eskom will give another update on the power situation on Friday, or when there have been significant changes to the grid.
