Stage 2 load shedding to hit Wednesday morning

Struggling power utility Eskom says rolling power blackouts will be implemented in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Eskom says stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 01:00 until 06:00 on Wednesday morning.


 


The cash-strapped state-owned enterprise says the decision was taken to accommodate the release of matric results.


This while ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa vowed that the governing party is doing everything in its power to stabilise the power network.


 


He addressed the community of Pampierstad near Kimberley on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the party’s birthday celebrations at the weekend.


 


“We are working on ensuring that we maintain those old power stations and make sure there is electricity. But we also making sure that we focus on the new power stations so that we get rid of all the challenges and problems.”
