The Deputy President addressed the 21st NEDLAC Summit in Boksburg on Friday.

Ramaphosa admitted various state institutions have been at war with each other.

He further said leaders should watch what they say, because all comments have an impact on the lives of ordinary South Africans.

The deputy president also reminded all that our nation is not an island operating alone.

"We need to be aware that as leaders of our people when we make pronouncements, when we make statements they have an impact on a number of things that happen. We are not an island. We are interconnected with a number of other initiatives that are underway. As government we are aware of the concerns of our social partners and of the South African public about recent events within the state, where the state has appeared to have waged war against itself," Ramaphosa said.

He said they are aware that it has caused a lot of disquiet.

"We have called upon all within the state machinery, if not to have a cease fire, but at least to act in a way that will not disturb the stability that our people call for. Our people want leadership. They want stable leadership. They want leaders that will lead in a stable and consistent manner."

Ramaphosa said its time for bold and innovative leadership in order to create jobs and create a growing economy that's inclusive.
