Updated | By Pieter van der Merwe
The State Security Minister has refused to comment of allegations of corruption weeks after his appointment.
State Security Minister Bongani Bongo has refused to comment on allegations of corruption, saying the legal process should take its course.
The Sunday Times is reporting that the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) probed allegations that Bongo received R1.5 million to build a house in Mbombela.
The money was apparently given to Bongo by the conveyancers in a R37.5 million land deal, funded by the human settlements department in Mpumalanga.
The newspaper futher reports that the conveyancers allegedly paid a total of R600 000 towards two cars driven by the minister.
"You can take my ID and check what properties do I own where, what cars do I own where," Bongo told Jacaranda FM News by telephone.
He added that the human settlements department has already answered the questions and that he is unaware of developments in Mpumalanga.
