The ANC in Parliament on Wednesday announced the resignation of the ruling party's Chief Whip Stone Sizani.

According to a statement released by the ANC, Sizani has been redeployed from Parliament to a new responsibility that would be publicly announced in due course.
"Because of the urgency with which he is required in the new deployment, Cde Sizani has thus resigned from Parliament with immediate effect," the statement said.
ANC Deputy Chief Whip Doris Dlakude will act as Chief Whip in the interim until a replacement has been appointed.
"The National Executive Committee of the ANC will make a decision regarding the replacement when it meets for its regular sitting in a few weeks' time," it said in the statement.
Sizani served as ANC Chief Whip since 2013.
