Student abducted, raped outside Tygerberg Hospital

The Western Cape Health Department has confirmed a first-year student from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) was abducted outside Tygerberg Hopsital and raped by a group of unknown men.
The department’s Nomawethu Sbukwana says the incident happened on Tuesday night.
"The group of men is unknown but they did release her and she did get treatment and counselling."

Sbukwana says they are working with the police and receiving updates on the search for the suspects.
The incident comes after news broke on Monday of the rape and murder of missing University of Cape Town (UCT) student Uyinene Mrwetyana.
