Student raped, another stabbed at NMU

A student has been raped and another stabbed inside a computer lab at the Nelson Mandela University (NMU) last night.
The incident took place at the Second Avenue campus on Monday night.
University spokesperson Zandile Mbabela says the institution is absolutely horrified at the incident.
"It is indeed with great shock and sadness that we receive news of the rape and stabbing on our campus."
Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says after the suspect raped the one student, he allegedly forced the two women to help him carry stolen computer equipment out of the building.

"The suspect also ordered the women to pass the stolen goods to him over the fence as he made his escape."
Both students have undergone medical attention treatment and counselling.
No arrests have yet been made.
