Sundowns footballer due in court on charge of assault
A Mamelodi Sundowns player is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Gauteng police nabbed the 26-year-old on Tuesday.
The unnamed player was arrested after the woman opened a case at the Sebenza Police Station in Edenvale.
"Gauteng police are investigating a case of assault," said Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza.
"The suspect will appear in Kempton Park court today for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at their home.”
