Suspect arrested for Charl Kinnear murder

A 39-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town on Friday in connection with the murder of top cop Charl Kinnear.

The Hawks arrested the suspect in Gauteng on Wednesday.
"More arrests are not ruled out as investigations are still underway,” says Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi.
Kinnear, who was an Anti-Gang Unit section commander, was gunned down in his car in front of his home in Bishop Lavis on Friday.
The 52-year-old investigated several high-profile cases in the Western Cape.
