Suspect arrested for policeman’s murder

A 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder of a police officer, Eastern Cape police said.

The body of Warrant Officer Alby Julius, 48, of the Grahamstown SA Police Service, was found in bushes near Grahamstown. He had been stabbed multiple times, a police statement said.
It was believed that his private cellphone was missing at the time his body was discovered. The arrested man was expected to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
