A man has appeared in court for the murder of Eskom employee Thembisile Yende.
Police spokesperson Johannes Ramphora says the suspect was arrested last week.
"He was arrested on Thursday in Carletonville," says Ramphora.
Yende's body was found in a locked office at the Springs substation at the end of May after she was reported missing two weeks earlier.
According to reports, the 43-year-old suspect is also an Eskom employee, but police could not confirm this.
Ramphora says the man appeared in the Springs Magistrate's Court this morning.
"The case was postponed until 23 June and he was denied bail," says Ramphora.
