Police in Gauteng have arrested more than 80 suspects following the gang rape of eight women in Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.
The suspects were arrested in an anti-crime blitz on Friday.
The women were attacked at a mining dump in West Village on Thursday where a production company crew was shooting a music video.
Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says the suspects are set to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges related to the Immigration Act.
"Those arrested on the 29th of July will be appearing at the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday, for contravention of the Immigration Act.”
Muridili says no one has been linked to the incident yet.
"No one has been linked to the incident yet and yesterday’s operation ended yesterday. The district and stations are continuing with their day-to-day operations and today 17 people have been arrested for contravention of the Immigration Act.
“Arrests of undocumented persons in the whole of West Rand is a daily occurrence."
