Limpopo police say the cars allegedly belong to the Nirvana community Police Forum (CPF) and were confiscated as part of the investigation.

Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects were operating as Police in the Westernburg Policing area.

"We view this practice in a very serious light because it is depicting a severe confusion within our communities and it is also denting the image of this Department and its corporate identity."

Ngoepe says Limpopo Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has called on the SAPS to immediately bring to an end the illegal use of Police insignia.

"Who ever can be found engaged on similar practice, the long arm of the Law will deal with him/her harshly and any member of the community who may see or come across suspicious cars marked with Police emblems, should contact the nearest Police Station immediately."

The suspects are expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrates Court on Monday.
