System making steady progress following outage, says Joburg Water
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Johannesburg Water says it will continue to monitor reservoirs and towers following a major power outage.
The outage left thousands of residents battling dry taps, although the system had shown significant improvement by Sunday morning.
Various parts of the city were left without water following a major trip at City Power’s Orlando Switching Station on Thursday.
Joburg Water spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala says alternative water supply is being provided to affected areas.
At the same time, the supply levels at several towers have shown an improvement, including Alexander Park Reservoir, Crown Gardens, and South Hills Tower.
