They called for an urgent solution to the problems in the Gauteng healthcare system.
National general-secretary Anele Yawa says they are tired of not getting positive results.
“The reason for our protest is based on the fact we are tired of submitting memorandums to the government to the office of the premier, without getting any positive responses.”
Yawa says the health system is falling apart and requires urgent attention.
“We wanted answers based on the fact that the state of healthcare services in Gauteng keeps deteriorating day by day, as much as we submitted memorandums to the government and they made promises to address them but we felt that enough is enough.”
The protestors managed to get a meeting with health officials where the TAC says they asked for a team of officials that can do physical monitoring at various facilities around the province.
