Tax season deadline: SARS extends operating hours
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The tax season deadline is looming, with only three weeks left for South Africans to pay their taxes.
The tax season deadline is 25 November 2016.
SARS has already received over 4,7 million income tax returns.
In an effort to accommodate all tax payers, SARS is extending working days at some branches to Saturdays for the next two weekends - 12 and 19 November 2016.
The branches that will operate on Saturdays from 8.00am to 1.00pm are:
- Alberton
- Edenvale
- Randburg
- Rissik Street
- Soweto (Orlando East)
- Vereeniging, Nelspruit
- Witbank, Pretoria North
- Rustenburg
- Durban, Mthatha
- Richards Bay
- Pietermaritzburg
- Port Elizabeth
- Bellville and Mitchells Plain
"With an expected increase in the number of taxpayers filing income tax returns, SARS branches opening on Saturdays will exclusively be focusing on assisting taxpayers with the completion of their income tax returns during this period," says SARS.
Taxpayers are advised that branches will operate normal hours during the week.
