Taxi drivers urged to make way for emergency services

The Gauteng Department of Health is calling on protesting taxi drivers to make way for emergency vehicles.

Taxi drivers have descended on Midrand in protest over the high instalments on their vehicles.
The department’s Arnold Malotana says the blocking of the roads could cost the injured and sick their lives.

“We also wish to plead with members of the community to be more patient during the taxi strike, whilst assuring that emergencies will be attended to accordingly,” says Malotana.
