Police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubele, says one car was damaged and a second car was petrol bombed.

"A case of attempted murder, intimidation and malicious damage to property has been opened, following violence at the Hatfield Gautrain station last night," says Makhubele.

Meanwhile  three people have been taken in for questioning following violent clashes in Sandton last week Thursday.

Two cars went up in flames in that incident.

Makhubele says police will continue to monitor the area and other hotspots.
