Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Educators Union of South Africa (EUSA) is set to head to court on Tuesday in an attempt to continuation of the academic year.

School across the country reopened on Monday, with grades 7 and 12 the first to head back to class.
EUSA, which represents over 27 000 teachers, wants the High Court in Pretoria to set aside the decision by of Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga to reopen the schools.
EUSA's spokesperson Kabelo Mahlobogwane says reopening schools during the Covid-19 pandemic will put the lives of pupils and teachers at risk.
"We want school not to reopen until it is safe to do so, at this point we are faced with a situation where human life is in danger.”
Mahlobogwane says the fact that the application will be heard virtually is proof of the extent of the pandemic.
