Teen mom sent for mental observation
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso

"The court has referred her to Sterkfontein so that her mental state can be checked," said spokeswoman Busaphi Nxumalo, referring to a facility outside Krugersdorp.
The woman was arrested on the night of April 5, two days after her 16-month-old boy narrowly escaped being hit by a truck while walking along the N1 highway near the Grasmere off-ramp.
She was found guilty of attempted murder and child abandonment.
The case was postponed to December 2.
