Teenager handed life sentence for KZN rape
Updated | By Laila Majiet

In March last year, Mlanduli broke into a 24-year-old-woman’s house in the rural area of Gingindlovu in the middle of the night, KwaZulu-Natal SA Police Service spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said in a statement.
He held her at gun-point and raped her while her 10-year-old niece looked on. He then fled the scene with stolen property. Gingindlovu detectives investigated and soon arrested him.
After numerous court appearances, he was eventually convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment, Zwane said.
Police welcomed the sentence, particularly as it was handed down during women’s month.
