Teletubbies’ Tinky Winky actor dies
The actor who played the purple Teletubby, Simon Barnes, has passed.
Barnes best known for playing Tinky Winky on children's show, The Teletubbies, has died just four days after his 52nd birthday.
His niece, Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack, paid homage on Instagram, writing: "The kindest and most talented man you could ever wish to meet. Loved by all who knew him, and will be forever. X."
The father of three, Barnes trained as a ballet dancer and choreographer, before taking on the role in the BBC show.
