Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko told the provincial legislature on Tuesday that they expect suspended Tembisa CEO Dr Ashley Mthunzi to be charged in August.

Nkomo-Ralehoko was answering questions posed by the DA's Jack Bloom in the legislature.
The Gauteng provincial government placed the Chief Financial Officer of the Gauteng Department of Health Lerato Madyo and Mthunzi on precautionary suspension in August last year.
Mthunzi was placed on precautionary suspension amid allegations of a possible link to the murder of whistleblower Babita Deokaran in August 2021.
"Whilst at this stage no specific charge from the findings for the CFO she has however faced prominently in the allegation because she was doing the approvals,” said MEC Nkomo-Ralehoko.
"The investigation is the matter that is conducted through tracker arrangement, the Special Investigating Unit is involved, Office of the Premier and the Department of Health and we have an MOU that has was entered into between the office of the premier and the SIU. Everything is in place and there are no delays hence they are going to be charged in August"
"At the moment the SIU has recommended be referred to the National Prosecuting Authority for only the service providers that have false information. Any criminal referral will be informed by the established criminal transgression by the two officials,” added Nkomo-Ralehoko.
