'Tense' protests against lack of power in parts of Soweto

Police officers have been dispatched to Midway and Protea South in Soweto, where protestors have taken to the streets in an attempt to block off the N12 on Wednesday morning.
Residents say they have been without electricity for five days.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla says the situation in the area is tense.
"There's a huge disturbance to peak traffic with delays on both directions on the N12 and surrounding areas as motorists divert from those routes.

"Officers are being sent and motorists are advised to travel through Protea Glen, Protea North Protea South, Chiawelo and Klipspruit West to avoid that route."
Abu Baker Asvat Drive has been blocked off between Chris Hani Road and the N12 with rocks and burning tyres.
