South African-born, Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron held brief talks with President Jacob Zuma in Pretoria on Monday in her capacity as a UN messenger of peace.
South African-born, Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron held brief talks with President Jacob Zuma in Pretoria on Monday in her capacity as a UN messenger of peace.
Theron made a brief appearance for a photograph with Zuma and Michel Sidibe, who is the executive director of UNAIDS, which is the joint UN programme on HIV/Aids.
Ahead of the meeting, the media were told they would discuss the fight against HIV and Aids, and "how collaboration can assist mitigate the pandemic's negative impact on young girls".
They would also explore ways to support South Africa's efforts to enable young women and girls to lead healthier, and HIV and Aids-free lives.
The actress wore a black and white ensemble for the formal occasion.
