Thirteen people arrested on the East rand for drugs

Thirteen people were arrested and drugs with an estimated street value of R32,000 were seized in Brakpan, Springs and Benoni, Ekurhuleni metro police said on Thursday.
On Wednesday evening, police conducted a special operation in the areas, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said.
"Various types of narcotics were confiscated from five drug dealers and eight undocumented persons were arrested."
Nine of the arrests were made in Brakpan. Two suspected dealers were found in possession of 64 packets of drugs with an estimated street value of R12,800 and R1100 in cash. Seven foreigners were arrested when they failed to produce valid documents.
In Springs, two suspected drug dealers were caught in possession of narcotics and dagga with an estimated street value of R17,380.
A man was arrested when he failed to produce valid documents.
In Benoni, a man believed to be a drug dealer was arrested when he was found with drugs worth R1600.
The arrested would appear in the Brakpan, Springs and Benoni magistrate's courts on Friday.
