Altogether 13,608 people have been arrested since the inception of Drug Watch in Gauteng in June, police said on Tuesday.

Altogether 13,608 people have been arrested since the inception of Drug Watch in Gauteng in June, police said on Tuesday.
Brigadier Neville Malila said in a statement the arrests were made during police operations in the province.
"A variety of drugs estimated [to be worth] R5 million have been seized since the launch of Drug Watch, and we are closing the net on drug lords and [drug] manufacturers in Gauteng province," Malila said.
On Monday, police arrested a 25-year-old man in Krugersdorp for possession of drugs and manufacturing drugs, after police found crystal methamphetamine and chemicals on his property.
Crime Line head Yusuf Abramjee said tip-off's received from members of the public were making a difference in the fight against
drugs.
