Thousands to march to Northam Platinum

The National Union of Mineworkers confirmed that more than 7000 of its members will bemark on a march today.
According to a statement from the union, they are unhappy about victimisation as well as the suspension and charging of NUM members at Northam Platinum.
The NUM is a majority union at Northam Platinum and according to the statement has maintained peaceful working relationships with the management for Northan for many year.
Here is a list of their demands:
- Fire the CEO of Northam Platinum Paul Dunne with immediate effect;
- The Chairperson and his Board of Directors must assure the NUM that victimisation of its members shall stop with immediate effect
- Fire the ER Specialist with immediate effect;
- Implement and abide by the requirements of the Recognition Agreement.
- Implement and abide by the requirements of the Framework Agreement For a Sustainable Mining Industry and the Framework for Peace and Stability in the Mining Industry.
