Three arrested in NW farm attack

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with an attack on a elderly couple at their farm just outside Taung in the North West.

The couple were assaulted during a house robbery on Saturday night.

Police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone says the 65-year-old farmer was tied up.
"During the ordeal the farmer was poured with hot water by the suspects who fled the scene after robbing the couple. The couple was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
"The victims' vehicle was spotted at a checkpoint and a car chase ensued after the suspect failed to stop and the suspects ultimately abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot."
One suspect is expected to appear in court on Tuesday for possession of stolen property and an illegal firearm.
