Three bogus cops nabbed in Ekurhuleni

The Ekurhuleni metro police have arrested three suspects for impersonating police officers in Bedfordview.
The men, aged between 29 and 50, where found with fake police uniforms, equipment and firearms.
The suspects robbed a motorist on the N3 after pulling him over with blue lights and a siren.
The victim was robbed R10,000 in cash, official documents, car keys and his licensed firearm.
EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa said the suspects were nabbed in Birch-Acres, Kempton Park and Tembisa.
"Officers uncovered five 9mm pistols, one scorpion assault rifle, one 16 channels jammer device, one combined portable dashboard blue light with siren, R710 00 in cash, two smartphones, six police branded caps and three firearm holsters inside their Ford Ranger King Cab.
“The suspects are expected to appear before court soon facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of police uniform and equipment with armed robbery.”
