Eastern Cape police were on Monday still trying to determine the motive for a Pakistani national setting himself alight at a trading store in Nxaxho village in Centane, killing himself and two others.

Police spokesman Jackson Manatha said the incident happened late on Saturday night.
“It is alleged that a Pakistani national identified as Shakeel Ahmed poured himself with petrol and set himself alight. He was with Luvuyu Funaphi, aged 41, and Sange Tsawe, aged 23,” said Manatha.
“The three all burnt to death inside the trading store that was rented by the Pakistani national whose age is not known.”
Police opened an inquest docket into the incident.
