Three injured in blaze at Magalieskruin Shopping Centre
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
Two people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a laundromat in Magalieskruin Shopping Centre, north of Pretoria, on Monday morning.
A firefighter has also been hospitalised after spraining his ankle during attempts to extinguish the blaze.
Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso says the firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other shops in the complex.
"They managed to contain the fire into the laundry and it did not spread to other shops. What they did was ventilate other shops affected by the smoke.”
The extent of the damage, as well as the exact cause of the fire, is yet to be determined.
