Three injured in Mamelodi heist
Three people have been injured in a cash-in-transit heist at a shopping centre in Mamelodi, east of Pretoria.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says a security guard is in a critical condition after he was shot in the chest.
“We found the security guard laying a few meters away from his vehicle. After assessment we found that he sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. Two bystanders, a man and a woman, also sustained gunshot wounds.”
Meiring says all patients were treated on scene and transported to nearby hospitals.
“It’s believed that an unknown number of gunmen had attacked the security guard,” says Meiring.
Police are yet to provide further details.
