Three killed in fire at Vosloorus childcare centre

Three people have been killed in a fire at a Vosloorus childcare centre.
The fire was apparently started by a candle during Thursday evening's power cuts.
The Ekurhuleni emergency services responded to the scene in Villa-Liza on Thursday evening.
Ekurhuleni emergency services' William Ntladi says a crew of nine firefighters found members of the public battling the blaze with water buckets.
The four-bedroomed house used as a child care centre was saved, but not before three lives were lost.
“An adult female in her fifties and two young girls aged seven and eight couldn't survive the flames. They were declared dead on scene by paramedics.
"Two other children, two boys in their mid-teens, survived unharmed,” says Ntladi.
Ntladi says the fire was caused by a candle.
He says the three deceased seemed to have suffered from lack of oxygen due to smoke inhalation.
