Phahlane says the men couldn't provide any documentation for the 18 girls and 39 boys.
Phahlane says the children are being assessed by the Department of Social Development and kept in a safe house.
He says the three suspects have already appeared at the Rustenburg Magistrates Court.
The case was postponed to 13 September. The suspects were remanded in custody.
