Three nabbed for murder of former Stellenbosch deputy mayor

Three suspects have been arrested for the murder of former Stellenbosch deputy mayor Cameron Mcako.

Mcako was shot and killed in November 2019 at his tavern in Kayamandi.
It is believed that a Democratic Alliance (DA) member and a municipal official are are among those arrested.
Western Cape police spokesperson Andre Traut says the suspects were arrested on Tuesday night.

"The thorough investigation led detectives to a husband and wife, aged 56 and 46, and a third male suspect aged 48."
All the suspects will appear in a Stellenbosch court on Thursday.
They have been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder
