Police have arrested three Zimbabwean nationals for possession of drugs with a street value of R2 million.
Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the suspect were nabbed while attempting to enter South Africa at the Beitbridge border post.
“Police were busy with the normal routine at the border post when the truck was directed to the cargo scanner. It was at this point that the scanner detected the drugs hidden under the bed compartment of the truck.”
The suspects were caught in possession of 10kg of heroine.
“Three suspects aged 32, 36 and 41 were then immediately arrested and will face charges relating to possession and dealing in illegal drugs,” says Mojapelo.
