Three security guards shot during attempted robbery

Three security officers were shot and wounded during an
attempted cash-in-transit
heist on the N4 near Brits in North West.

Police spokesperson Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said an unknown number of suspects opened fire on two Fidelity security vehicles.
“It is alleged the security officers returned fire, but three of them were injured. A motorist passing was [also] injured,” he said.
Mokgwabone said the suspects fled in a vehicle empty handed.
“The suspects will be charged with attempted murder and attempted robbery,” he said.
Mokgwabone said all the security officials and the motorist were taken to hospital for treatment
