A three-year-old girl died and two people were injured when a car collided with a concrete barrier on the M19 in Durban, paramedics said on Tuesday.
"Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene to find that a single vehicle had lost control and collided with a concrete barrier.
Paramedics found the injured in a nearby petrol station," Rescue Care spokesman Garrith Jamieson said.
It is believed they managed to walk to the petrol station after the accident near Mountbatten Drive around 10pm on Monday.
The child had sustained major injuries and she died at the scene. The three-year-old's mother and the driver were stabilised and taken to a local hospital.
It was not know what caused the accident. Police were investigating.
