Time running out for Gauteng parents to accept placements
Updated | By Thabo Tshabalala
Parents in Gauteng have until the end of Friday to accept school placement offers by the province’s Department of Education.
The department says parents who fail to do so risk losing out on the placement offer.
Spokesperson Steve Mabona says the number of parents who have accepted the department’s placement offer have improved, but parents who have opted for other options need to inform the department.
"The challenge will be that we are going to have to remove them from the system because we cannot have them in the system while we don't know if they are interested in the space or not.
"We are hopeful that some of the parents have been going to the school to access the space, looking at the numbers they are going down, " says Mabona
Mabona says the department wants to finalise all placements by end of January.
