Toddler, 6 others killed in N1 crash
Seven people have been killed in a crash involving a car and a truck on the N1 between Musina and Beitbridge in Limpopo.
The victims include a 2-year-old boy.
Provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the crash took place on Sunday night.
"The truck had reportedly just moved from the Petros Truck Stop which is located next to the road, turning onto the N1 highway towards Beitbridge when the Fortuner, coming from the northerly direction towards Musina, rammed into its trailer.
"Emergency personnel had to remove the deceased from the wreckage of their vehicle that was trapped under the truck.”
Mojapelo says the victims include the two-year-old boy, three females and three males, who were all in the Fortuner. The truck driver was alone and did not sustain any injuries.
The process of identifying the deceased is underway as the victims are unknown at this stage.
