The Department of Social Development has repatriated a two-year-old from a prison in Senegal to South Africa.

The department's social workers arrived with the toddler at OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday morning.
The toddler was born in Senegal to a mother who was arrested for drug trafficking.
She reportedly gave birth a few days after her imprisonment.
Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu says the mother has nominated the grandmother of the child as the guardian.
She will look after the two-year-old while the mother serves her sentence in Senegal.
"The child will be integrated with the mother's family in the Eastern Cape and the department will continue providing child protection services and provide support to the family," she said.
