Traditional healer arrested for raping girl (20)

A traditional healer has been arrested outside Burgersfort in Limpopo in connection with the rape of a 20-year-old woman.
The man was arrested on Sunday.
The 33-year-old, who also claims to be a pastor, was taken into custody after the victim opened a case of rape on Saturday.
Limpopo police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspect allegedly raped the woman during a consultation session.
“The police in Sekhukhune have arrested a 33-year-old man, believed to have been a traditional healer and a pastor, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl who is a high school learner at the village in this area on the 18th of September while the victim was visiting him for consultation.
“The circumstances around this incident is a subject of the on-going police investigations. The provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned with the strongest terms this irresponsible act alleged by the traditional healer and a pastor.”
The suspect is expected to appear in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court soon.
