Motorists in Johannesburg have been warned of heavy traffic volumes in parts of the city centre on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Major routes will be affected, including Harrison Street, Jorrisen Street, Rissik Street and De Korte Street.
Traffic restrictions will come in effect for the State of the City Address taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Braamfontein.
“Officers will be deployed to regulate traffic from 07H00 to 16H00,” says Johannesburg metro police spokesperson, Xolani Fihla.
“Jorrisen Street will be closed off to traffic on Tuesday, 4 May 2021, between Biccard Street and Civic Boulevard from 08H30 to 10H00 for the formation and procession of the motorcade.”
Fihla adds motorists and other road users are asked to exercise patience during traffic congestion.
