Traffic officer shot dead
A traffic officer has been shot dead by her boyfriend in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal transport MEC Willies Mchunu's office said on Friday.
"[Sthe] Ngqulunga was allegedly shot and killed [on Thursday night] by her boyfriend who is said to be a police officer," spokesman Kwanele Ncalane said in a statement.
The officer then shot and killed himself. Mchunu said he was saddened by the "horrific manner" in which the woman was killed.
"We ... extend our condolences to the families, friends and colleagues who are affected by this incidence," Mchunu said.
