Train cable power restored in Mamelodi
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso

"Following the overhead power failure reported this morning at around 5.20am, the technical teams have managed to resolve the problem," Metrorail Gauteng spokeswoman Lilian Mofokeng said in a statement.
"Metrorail train services are operating normal from Mamelodi via Capital Park and Mamelodi to Pretoria."
Earlier, train services were delayed after it was found that the overhead cable did not have power.
Mofokeng said many passengers were stranded, and plans to transport them were made.
Metrorail utilised a diesel locomotive to haul trains trapped in the sections without power.
A shuttle train service was also introduced between Eestefabrieke, Pretoria and Hercules.
The cause of the power failure was not known.
